Co-Operative Education Programme at
UCSI
University is
implemented to formally integrate classroom learning with
workplace training in Co-Op employer organization?
- Students
under the
UCSI
University programmes
are required to complete a Co-Op module, comprising two
months' work experience in each academic year as part of
meeting the degree/diploma requirements
?
- Each
Co-Op module is worth three Credits and students are graded
based on a written assignment and employer's evaluation upon
completion of each Co-Op module?
Where do I begin?
Co-Op Registration Procedure:
- Firstly,
follow through the Co-Op course selection
- Then,
get the advice and approval from the respective
faculty/school and proceed
with the payment of necessary fee(s)
- Next, login to myCo-Op with your
Student ID and eAdvantage Password
- After
that submit your online Co-Op Job Application Form (CV) to
the Co-Operative Education
and Career Services (CECS)
- Finally,
submit certified true hardcopies of supporting documents
(e.g. transcript, letters of reference, etc) to
CECS
Academic Pre-requisites for
Co-Op
Students must have

Achieved
at least 80% course work in each
Year/Level
-
Obtained
a minimum cumulative overall average (CGPA) of 2.0 (i.e.
50-59%) at the end of each
academic session [NB: Most employers require a minimum
CGPA of 2.5 (65%) or
more]
A student who has not met the academic
pre-requisites

Co-Op
Registration Procedure:
- First

- Then

with the payment of necessary fee(s). Failure to do so will
disqualify students for Co-Op at that particular
period.
- Next,
register with CECS by completing and submitting the online
Co-Op Job Application Form (CV)
- After
that, submit certified true hardcopies of supporting
documents (e.g. transcripts, letters of reference etc) to
CECS
- Applicants
must have attended and successfully completed Co-Op
workshops organized by CECS/UCSI University
- In
addition, there might be further requirements that employers
may impose on students, e.g. pre-employment and/or during
employment screenings, physical examination/medical
check-up, criminal record checks and drug testing. Failure
to participate in, complete or pass these types of
qualifying screening may affect students eligibility and/or
opportunity for Co-Op positions
